About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Remote Accountant & E-Commerce Systems Specialist with expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Microsoft Excel, and Shopify administration. The ideal candidate will not only manage accounting operations and financial reporting but also maintain large-scale product catalogues on Shopify, ensuring accuracy in inventory, pricing, and SEO optimization. This is not a simple data-entry role — we are looking for an expert who can handle complex data structures, bulk updates, and optimize catalogue workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage day-to-day accounting activities within Microsoft Business Central.
Perform bank reconciliations, journal entries, and ensure compliance with accounting best practices.
Oversee inventory accounting and costing accuracy, including stock adjustments and bulk updates.
Generate and analyse financial and management reports for leadership.
Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
Use Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data analysis tools) for reconciliations, bulk updates, and reporting.
Handle large datasets efficiently, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Create custom reporting dashboards for performance tracking and insights.
Act as a Shopify catalogue, overseeing thousands of SKUs.
Perform bulk updates of products, descriptions, and pricing using Shopify admin tools and import/export methods.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of product data across Shopify and Business Central.
Manage and optimize meta fields/meta objects for structured data.
Implement SEO best practices (meta titles, descriptions, product tags, and structured data) to improve organic visibility.
Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to maintain a clean, scalable catalogue structure.
Qualifications
Proven experience in accounting and finance roles.
Strong expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (required).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis).
Experienced Shopify Administrator (not data entry) with catalogue management skills.
Strong knowledge of SEO principles and structured data (meta objects, fields).
